Breast Massage:
Therapeutic breast massage is one of the most effective ways to maintain healthy breast tissue, enhance range of motion, and promote the healing process after life-changing medical concerns of the chest, breast, and upper body, such as: breast augmentation/reduction, pregnancy and lactation, breast cancer, and cardiac/shoulder surgery. I am specially trained in the proprietary SPURGEON METHOD™, which utilizes a combination of manual lymphatic drainage, scar tissue release, bodywork, and specific techniques to relieve the chronic pain that often occurs after surgery, as well as inflammation.
Swedish:
A gentle massage with moderate pressure that can improve circulation, reduce stress, and improve one's mental outlook.
Reflexology:
Based on the theory that the feet and hands are mirror images of the body. Different areas of the feet and hands, corresponding to the affected parts of the body, are stimulated through applying pressure, stretching, and movement. By stimulating different areas of the feet and hands, the reflexologist can break up tension in the related areas.
Aromatherapy:
At the client's request, the use of natural plant oils may be incorporated in the massage/treatment at no additional cost. The practice of aromatherapy makes use of many different essential oils blended together to aid in providing specific emotional and physical health benefits and well-being.
Reiki/Energy Work (Universal Life Force Energy):
A simple hands-on technique which improves energy flow on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels and initiates healing and well-being. This modality is well-suited for persons who are fatigued, anxious, depressed, or simply unhappy with life as energy work is also a method of enhancing personal growth and spiritual enlightenment.
Pre- and Post- Natal (Doula Trained):
Pre-natal massage is offer at the start of the second trimester (Week 13). Post-natal massage can be administered immediately after delivery with a vaginal birth, and at 3 months following a Caesarian birth. A doctor’s note is required clearing patients to receive pre- and post- natal massages. Pre-natal massage avoids areas that may be considered “trigger points” (contra-indicated). Pre- and post-natal massages offer comfort to a patient’s body preparing and recovering from childbirth; both are delivered with a gentle-to-moderate touch, no deep tissue.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage:
A technique which has been shown to relieve edema, fibrosis, and the accompanying pain and discomfort. Anyone who has had lymph nodes removed and/or radiated in the neck, axillary, or groin, is at the risk of lymphedema.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage with Castor Oil Pack:
With the addition of castor oil incorporated into the treatment, this modality helps to naturally detoxify the liver, supports uterine and ovarian health, improves lymphatic circulation, and can reduce inflammation.
Scar Tissue Release:
Scar tissue release is a three-dimensional, fascial (skin)-release system that works to minimize scar-tissue development and the subsequent restrictions. Adhered tissues are released and then realigned from their starting point, which is the visible scar, to their end point, no matter how new or old the scar.
Medical Massage (Muscle Energy Techniques):
A system of manual therapy that address dysfunction and pain within the musculoskeletal system. The Medical Massage Therapist assesses the client to determine what structures are affected and then supplies specific soft tissue techniques designed to alleviate pain, normalize toxicity, and restore range of motion.
Certified Oncology Massage:
This treatment, delivered with a gentle touch, modifies massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with the complications and restrictions associated with cancer and cancer treatment. We take into consideration the use of chemotherapy and radiation, along with other related medical concerns and restriction sites resulting from receiving medical treatments, such as ports, catheters, PICC lines, drains, hair loss, and scarring. When patients are actively receiving cancer treatments, a doctor’s note is required, clearing patients to receive massages.
Chair Massage:
Chair massage can be used to reduce tension and stress, increase blood circulation, lower blood pressure, and strengthen your immune system. It helps to refresh and rejuvenate your body and mind.
